Turbines are huge, intricate, beautiful machines. And if you drop something inside of them, they double as musical instruments. But as YouTuber AgentJayZ demonstrates, the delightful xylophone sound that makes is actually horrible.
Why? If you’ve got a screw in there and you turn it on, you’re going to be the owner of a brand new broken turbine. And if you want to get it out, well, it’s time to take the whole sucker apart and go fishing for bolts. Not fun. But if you’re not too busy screaming “oh god no!” it’s a fantastic little noise to hear.

In realtà penso che il peggior incubo di una turbina sia il suono delle implosioni da cavitazione: le ripetute onde di pressione generate dal collasso delle bolle di vapore, provocano dei microgetti di liquido che erodono continuamente il metallo, creando dei fori che danneggiano le pale molto di più di una singola vite.
