Let’s talk about Italy: here the school years’ names change, depending on the school you choose. The first two years of Liceo Classico school, are called 4ª and 5ª Ginnasio. The last three are called 1ª, 2ª and 3ª Liceo.

For any other school, the same years are referred as 1ª, 2ª, 3ª, 4ª and 5ª Superiore. But that isn’t all: one of these other schools is called Liceo Scientifico, so, the 1ª Superiore at Liceo Scientifico is often called 1ª Liceo, even if it’s different from 1ª Liceo at Liceo Classico.
